How and how often the boat is used varies, but surveys show that the average Swedish boat owner uses their boat a maximum of 20 days per season. Our elongated country gives us zones with varying temperature and weather and thereby a varying length of the boating season.
It is not only theft and burglary that can damage your boat. Improper mooring can cause damage to the hull in a storm, collision with another boat, low battery level, high water levels and fire are some of the reasons that all boat owners can experience.
Common to many boat owners is that the boat is usually unattended at its dock for several days and nights, when reporting theft or break-in and in search warrants it is often stated that the date of the crime may have occurred during a span of several weeks, sometimes even months.
